The Culture Change Starter Guide

What is culture?

Culture can be defined as 'the way we do things around here', or sometimes it's extended to 'the way people do things round here when leaders aren't around'.

Culture drives all behaviour in that organisation – whether it’s linked to health, safety and wellbeing; environmental, social and governance considerations; keeping a company safe from cyberattacks; or more generally around the values underpinning an organisation.

Why change an organisation's culture?

🧘‍♂️ Wellbeing - improves mental health and enhances positive attitudes in the workplace.

👷🏾‍♀️ Health and Safety - lowers the risk of personal injuries, and even death.

🌲 Environmental - changes attitudes towards environmental issues to help companies achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
